Triple Play Podcast: Omar Infante, Marcus Stroman, AL West Preview
It’s still Spring Training, which means players are still getting injured, and there were some big ones last week. We opened this week’s episode by talking about Marcus Stroman‘s ACL injury, and how devastating it could be to the Blue Jays’ chances this year. Baseball fans everywhere were excited to see him this season, so losing him for all of 2015 is a complete bummer.

We also discussed Gavin Floyd‘s broken elbow, and what it means for the Indians. Bruce Chen is just a couple spots away from being in a major league rotation again.
On the Royals’ front, we covered John Lamb being optioned to Omaha, and what his future might look like if his velocity is back. Beyond that, the Royals news wasn’t great. Tim Collins had Tommy John surgery, and Omar Infante is going to have issues with his bone spur until having surgery after the season. That decision confuses us.
From there, we moved on to the AL West, where we wrapped up our MLB divisional preview series. The Rangers are losing Yu Darvish to a UCL tear, which basically torpedoes whatever slim chance they had at contention this year. The Astros are going to hit plenty of dingers while striking out frequently.
Billy Beane turned over the Athletics’ roster, and still should be solid, but the West looks like it will come down to the Angels and Mariners. The Angels have the best player in baseball, while the Mariners probably boast the best rotation in the league. It should be a lot of fun to watch it all unfold.
