In the first game of their double header, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals lost 5-1. The Naturals actually had the lead for most of the game, as Hunter Dozier doubled with one out before scoring on Zane Evans‘ base hit. That would prove to be the only run until the top of the sixth, when the San Antonio Missions scored three runs, highlighted by two runs scoring on Trae Turner’s infield single and an error by Luke Harrell. San Antonio tacked on two more runs in the seventh to put the game away.
The second game was not much better for the Naturals. This time, the Missions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on two first inning triples and a pair of RBI singles from Turner and Duanel Jones. The Missions added a run in the fourth and another in the sixth to take a 5-0 lead before the Naturals made it a bit interesting. Mike Bianucci had a two out, two run double to cut the lead to 5-2, but Jorge Bonifacio struck out to end the game.
In the Carolina League, the Wilmington Blue Rocks were shut out by the Carolina Mudcats 7-0. Andrew Waszak and two relievers combined to hold the Blue Rocks to five hits, with Robert Pehl as the only Wilmington player to get more than one hit on the night. The Mudcats held a 2-0 lead heading into the fourth, where they put the game away on a pair of two run home runs from Jacob Schrader and Joseph Odom. Jake Junis allowed all seven runs in the loss, as he gave up eight hits and two walks in five innings.
Rounding out the action with the South Atlantic League, the Lexington Legends were hammered by the Greenville Drive 11-4.
