KC Royals Minors Recap: Jorge Bonifacio Leads NWA to Victory
Omaha held on for the 10-8 victory over Reno. The Storm Chasers hit five home runs, while Reno hit two.
Up until their two-run 7th inning, Omaha’s runs came via home runs. Cheslor Cuthbert hit a solo shot to get the Storm Chasers on the board in the first. Rehabbing catcher Erik Kratz hit a solo shot in the second. Orlando Calixte hit a two-run homer in the second. In the fourth, both Francisco Pena and Lane Adams hit two-run homers.
John Lamb earned his fourth win, though he allowed four runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out seven. Three of the four runs came on a two out homer. Chris Dwyer allowed a two out, two-run home run in the seventh.
Brandon Finnegan made his Triple-A debut and left with two men on base in the top of the ninth. However, Louis Coleman allowed both runners to score. Finnegan had retired four in a row before a walk to start the ninth.

NW Arkansas
has now won seven in a row, as they beat visiting Tulsa,
3-0.
Jorge Bonifacio created all of the Naturals offense, as he hit a two out, three-run home run in the bottom of the third. He also tripled in the game.
Luke Farrell made his first start in Double-A of the 2015 season and allowed just one hit and three walks over the first four innings. He struck out seven. Farrell retired the first eight before a two out walk in the third. The next batter collected the Drillers first hit (a single). Matt Murray earned the win to improve to 4-0, allowing five hits over the final five innings. He struck out three.
Wilmington opened their series against Carolina with a 3-1 victory.
Yender Caramo earned the win, as he allowed one run on six hits over six innings. He struck out five and hit two batters. Caramo also induced ten ground outs. Luis Rico earned his first save with three scoreless innings of relief. He allowed two hits and struck out two.
Blue Rocks leadoff hitter Ramon Torres went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Mauricio Ramos also went 2-for-4 and drove in a run. As a team, they also hit into three more double plays, giving them a Carolina League-leading 46 on the season.
Lexington beat Hagerstown, 5-1.
Legends leadoff hitter Corey Toups went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. He also stole his ninth base of the season. Humberto Arteaga also had two hits and his eighth stolen base in the win.
Ryan O’Hearn, a normal first baseman/DH, played right field for the second time this season (and second time in four days). He went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Zach Lovvorn earned his third win of the season. He allowed one run on nine hits and three walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out two. Matt Strahm walked one over 2.1 scoreless innings. He struck out two.
