KC Royals May 5th Minors Recap
Omaha won their second straight over Round Rock, this time by a 3-1 score.
Both teams scored a run in the first, with the Storm Chasers coming on a Cheslor Cuthbert home run (one of his three hits). They broke the tie in the sixth on a Moises Sierra single.
John Lamb earned his second win of the season, as he allowed one run on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out three. Luke Hochevar followed with a scoreless inning of relief as he continues his rehab for the KC Royals (though he allowed two hits). Buddy Baumann earned his first save of the season with two scoreless innings of relief.
Whit Merrifield‘s hitting streak came to an end at 18 games. He went 0-for-3 with a walk. Casey Kotchman went 2-for-3.

Heading out on the road did not slow down
NW Arkansas
, as they won their tenth game in a row. The Naturals opened up their road trip with a
5-3victory in Springfield.
Bubba Starling gave the Naturals the early 2-0 lead in the second on his first Double-A home run, a two-run shot. He also doubled and drove in another run. Mike Bianucci hit a solo homer in the fourth, his sixth of the season. Terrance Gore went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. He also stole his eighth base of the season.
J.C. Sulbaran earned the victory, as he allowed just one run on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.
Wilmington had their opener in Potomac rained out. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday night. Luis Rico and Yender Caramo (piggy back partners) will start each game.
Lexington had Tuesday off, as they begin a seven-game homestand against Charleston on Wednesday night.
