For the third time this week, Peoria and Scottsdale faced off. And for the third time, Peoria was victorious. The Javelinas won on Thursday afternoon by a 5-3 final.

KC Royals pitching continues to dominate the Arizona Fall League. Ali Williams pitched a perfect 1.1 innings of relief. He struck out two, as he entered in the 5th inning. Williams threw ten of his 14 pitches for strikes. He earned his second hold of the AFL season.

Lefty Sam Selman earned his third hold, as he threw a scoreless 8th inning. He did allow a hit while striking out one. Selman threw 14 pitches, nine for strikes.

Raul Mondesi led off and played shortstop. He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He also committed a throwing error, his fourth of the AFL season. It came on a potential double play ground out when he threw away the relay to first base.

Hunter Dozier played third base and batted fifth for the second straight day. He went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts. Dozier’s walk in the 6th inning with the bases loaded drove in the Javelinas’ first run of the inning (they scored three).

Bubba Starling was back in at centerfield for Peoria, batting seventh. He went 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

Peoria will host Salt River on Friday afternoon.
