Royals AFL October 16th Recap

Peoria lost their third game in a row and five of their last six with a 6-2 loss  at Mesa. The Javelinas have just two wins and a tie in nine Arizona Fall League games.

It was another quiet night in terms of the KC Royals representatives for the Javelinas.

Third baseman Hunter Dozier was the lone Royal to see playing time. His fielding error in the 4th inning cost the team two runs. With one out, he committed the fielding error to put the first runner on base. Mesa then put together an RBI double, a single, and a sac fly following the error to take the lead.

On offense, Dozier went 1-for-5 with a double and three strikeouts. He was called out on strikes in his first two at-bats against Solar Sox starter Ivan Pineyro (Chicago Cubs). He doubled in the sixth, but was left stranded. He struck out to end the game with a runner on first.

*Former Royal Patrick Leonard went 0-for-3 with a walk. He once again played first base and batted seventh.
