Triple Play Podcast: Former Royals News, Moustakas, & Trade Options

On this week’s Triple Play Podcast, Reese, Matt, and I discuss a few former Royals making news around the league. Chris Getz retired, Miguel Tejada signed a contract with the Marlins, Jesse Chavez is apparently good at pitching now, and Jeff Francoeur is striking out almost a batter per inning in Triple-A. Also on the topic of pitching, we revisit the mountain of pitcher injuries around baseball, recently topped off by the excellent Jose Fernandez.

We then talk about the Royals underperforming offense, much as it has grown difficult finding new ways to describe the ineptness. We talk about the potential for Mike Moustakas to be sent down, and if there are any positive signs from the rest of the lineup.
Finally, we wrap things up by looking at some potential trade scenarios that could play out in the next few months. We mention a few possible trade targets Dayton Moore should pursue if the team is still in the hunt, as well as some current Royals who may be dealt off if things go horribly, horribly wrong.
