Part of the Royals trip to Detroit will involve a Friday double header which will include Danny Duffy as one of the starters (presumably as the 26th man for the day-night event). So we figured let’s get him on the phone and get his thoughts.

We talked to him about his preparation routine heading into his 2013 Kansas City debut and his first start back in the majors, the things he’s working on now, and in-game adjustments. We also picked his brain about his potential September callup and what kind of role he would foresee for himself.

Finally, we briefly summarized where the Royals are in the wild card race and did some looking ahead at the Royals schedule and the schedules of some of the teams ahead of them in the wild card race.
