Following the Royals 9-1 loss to the White Sox on Friday night twitter was abuzz when Rob White of the Omaha World-Herald tweeted about a Jarrod Dysonwas being activated. The Dyson move wasn’t news so much that who was taking the trip up I-29 with this move?

Chris Getz, was the name that was sent to Triple-A Omaha leaving the Royals with Elliot Johnson and Miguel Tejada as backup infielders. Ned Yost said the two will split time at second base, in addition to playing other positions like they’ve done so far this season.

David Lough who’s played well since being promoted was thought to be the odd man out in the outfield which now consists of Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain, Jeff Francoeur and Dyson plus Lough. The team will probably need to make another move soon with five outfielders on the current roster in addition to a surplus of relievers.

Relievers such as J.C. Gutierrez or Kelvin Herrera might be on that list but it’ll be interesting to see what Yost does with this move. Gordon got the day off Saturday but having five outfielders with one backup infielder just seems like something else is on the horizon.
