More Minor League Accolades

First, before I get into the news, Mike Moustakas went 4-6 today with three homers, a 3-RBI double and 11 RBIs on the night.

Wow.  Just.  Wow.

It should come to no surprise, then, that Moose was named the Texas League’s Player of the Year after slugging 21 homers and putting up a 1.100 OPS. After tonight, he’s hit a total of 34 homers in 2010 despite missing the first two weeks with an oblique strain.

But that’s not all. Moustakas will join Eric Hosmer and Danny Duffy in representing Team USA in the Pan-Am games in late September. Don’t forget that earlier this year, both Hosmer and Moustakas represented the Royals in the All-Star Futures Game, where Hosmer stood out after going 4-5.

And even that was after being named to the Texas League (Moustakas) and Carolina League (Hosmer) All-Star teams as starters.

I don’t know where you’ll be in 2013, but I might just rent out a spot inside Kauffman Stadium to watch this group of players.
