MiLB.com recently did a quick preview of the Pacific Coast League which included this nugget.

"The Royals rotation likely will be anchored by Gaby Hernandez, who was claimed off waivers in early March. The 23-year-old right-hander went 10-9 with a 5.23 ERA in 26 starts for Tacoma last season."

I know that it’s not breaking news that the upper levels of the Royals system lacks talent, but reading those two sentences made me feel like I had been slapped in the face.  A guy that they just claimed off waivers, with a 5.84 in 211.1 Triple-A innings, is going to “anchor” the Omaha rotation.
