Omaha could not overcome two 4-run innings by Memphis, as they lost 8-7. They had the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but Francisco Pena struck out to end the game. The Storm Chasers split the four-game series with the Redbirds and now head to Oklahoma City for four games.

Clayton Mortensen gave up all eight runs on eight hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. Chris Dwyer entered in the 4th inning with two runners on base and stranded both. Dwyer allowed two hits and walked two over 3.1 scoreless innings. He also picked off a base runner at first base. Louis Coleman then pitched two hitless innings with two strikeouts.

The Storm Chasers had their own big inning, a six-run third when they batted around. Whit Merrifield got the scoring started with an RBI single to extend his hitting streak to nine games. Moises Sierra drove in two with a double. Casey Kotchman drove in a run with a double and Pena finished the scoring with a two out, two-run single.

Omaha’s outfield each picked up an outfield assist. Lane Adams and Reymond Fuentes each threw a runner out at third base, while Sierra threw a runner out at second base.

NW Arkansas lost their second straight in Tulsa, 3-2.

Andy Ferguson made his first start of the season and was solid over five innings. In place of the promoted Brandon Finnegan, he allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out six.

Malcom Culver took the loss in relief, allowing a run on three hits in the sixth. Reid Redman pitched two scoreless with four strikeouts.

Former Royal Ryan Dennick, who has bounced around over the last few weeks, pitched 2/3 of an inning for the Drillers.

Wilmington lost in extra innings in Frederick, 4-3. The Keys scored single runs in the ninth, tenth, and 11th innings to complete the comeback.

The Blue Rocks tied the game in the seventh, took the lead in the eighth, and then again in the tenth. Zane Evans drove in all three runs with singles, twice with two outs. Jack Lopez also had three hits, including a double, and scored a run.

Luis Rico took the no decision, as he allowed one run on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out five. Yender Caramo allowed two runs on six hits over four innings. He struck out three.

Andrew Edwards took the loss, allowing the winning run on a single with two outs.

Lexington lost their seventh game in a row, losing again in West Virginia, this time by a 7-2 final.

The Power scored all of their runs in the third and fourth innings. Zach Lovvorn took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and a walk over four innings. Ashton Goudeau saved the bullpen with four scoreless innings of relief. He allowed two hits while striking out two.

The Legends collected eight hits, two hits each by Ryan O’Hearn, Alfredo Escalera-Maldonado, and Brandon Downes. Downes hit two doubles and was ejected (along with manager Omar Ramirez) in the eighth.
