Triple Play Podcast: Royals Relievers, Donaldson Trade, Free Agents

facebooktwitterreddit

After a brief hiatus, the Triple Play Podcast is back to break down a whole host of moves that went down around Major League Baseball. Reese, Matt, and I talked a bit about the Josh Donaldson trade that sent the All-Star third baseman to Toronto in exchange for some potentially useful prospects. The Blue Jays also acquired Michael Saunders from the Mariners, who had signed Nelson Cruz after his great season for the Orioles, who lost Nick Markakis to the Braves. Hooray, offseason!

We also discussed the signings of Yasmany Tomas and Andrew Miller in Arizona and New York, respectively, and what impact those moves may have on the trade market.

More from KC Royals News

Speaking of trades, we dove into the deal that sent Aaron Crow to Miami for two actual human baseball players who might prove to be good at baseball. Of course, that was only one of the Royals’ recent bullpen moves, so we spent some time on the Jason Frasor and Luke Hochevar re-signings, and what the team may look to do with their depth of relief talent.

Finally, we had a brief discussion on what could go down at the Winter Meetings this week, with several teams looking to be active in trades.
