Peoria and Salt River played to a 4-4 tie. It is the Javelinas’ third tie of the Arizona Fall League season. With Surprise winning this afternoon, the two teams are now tied atop the West Division with just two games left in the regular season.

Leading 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh, KC Royals lefty Sam Selman allowed a two out, two-run inside-the-park home run to Justin Bohn of Miami (Kes Carter fell over the bullpen wall in right field). Selman struck out two around that homer. He then was pulled in the eighth after allowing a double around two fly outs.

Peoria tied the game in the top of the 8th inning.

All three Royals position players were in the Javelinas starting lineup.

Hunter Dozier was at third base and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout. Bubba Starling was in centerfield and went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs. He also struck out twice. He scored the game’s first run on a sac fly in the third. Starling drove in both runs in the fourth on a two out double.

Raul Mondesi was the DH (and batted after Starling). He went 4-for-5 with a double and his fifth AFL stolen base.

Peoria will play Mesa on Wednesday afternoon before Thursday’s matchup with Surprise.
