It was a tough night for Omaha, as they lost to Nashville, 7-0. It was actually another tough start for Chris Dwyer, who allowed six runs on 11 hits and two walks over just 4.2 innings. He gave up two homeruns and threw 92 pitches.

On offense, Wil Myers went 2-for-4 while playing third base. Unfortunately, he committed an error.

They faced former KC Royal Humberto Quintero, who went 2-for-5 for the Sounds and picked off Mitch Maier at first base.

NW Arkansas continued their losing ways with an 8-4 loss to Springfield. It was 5-0 after the 3rd inning.

JC Sulbaran continued his struggles since coming over from the Cincinnati Reds, as he lasted just 3.2 innings in his start. He allowed five runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks. He threw 88 pitches.

Ryan Dennick relieved him and, despite giving up a run, was dominant. He allowed five hits and a walk over 3.1 innings while striking out six.

In the loss, Kevin Kouzmanoff went 2-for-4 with a homerun.

Wilmington rebounded from losing both games on Monday by winning in Frederick, 5-4. It gave the Blue Rocks a 1.5 game lead over the Keys for the second half title in the Northern Division of the Carolina League.

One day after being hit by a pitch and exiting the game, shortstop Orlando Calixte returned with a vengeance. He went 3-for-5 and fell a triple short of the cycle. He led off the game with a homerun and later stole a base. Cheslor Cuthbert also picked up three hits, while Geulin Beltre went 2-for-4 with a solo homerun.

Andy Ferguson picked up the win, despite allowing four runs on six hits over 6.2 innings. He did strike out six while not walking a batter. Reliever Edwin Carl was DOMINANT following Ferguson. He struck out five over 2.1 perfect innings to pick up his first save.

Kane County lost to Burlington, 6-3. The Bees scored four runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

Top pick Kyle Zimmer took the loss for the Cougars, despite not allowing an earned run. He allowed five unearned runs on ten hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three. The Cougars made three errors, with two coming in that 3rd inning.

Bubba Watch: Bubba Starling went 1-for-3 with a walk in Burlington’s Game 1 loss to Kingsport. In Game 2, he went 3-for-3 with an RBI in the Royals 4-3 win. He also stole his tenth base of the season.
