New Kid on the Block

Hello Kings of Kauffman readers.  As you may (or may not) have noticed, I’ve been away for a brief few days while entertaining a swarm of siblings here in Lawrence.  It was a pretty crazy three days that I’ll recap for you tomorrow, but before then, there’s a great piece of news about the site to report.

Less than two weeks ago, I sent out a beacon for additional contributors on the site and I’m glad to officially announce that Tom Smalley has joined the site, and was in fact so excited to dig in and get started that he beat me to announcing his arrival!  You can read his excellent first post right here: Astroturf, Mustaches and Camera Day.  Take the time to read it – I think longtime Royals fans will get a little touch of remembrance of their early days of fandom.

I remember my attempts to get to Camera Day, though in consecutive years my dad missed his exit, and we passed the stadium.  At any rate, both times, we were late getting to the stadium and the Camera Day portion had already concluded. So sad.  I never got one of those Wally Joyner Roberts Dairy Growth Posters either.  Regardless, we’re glad to have Tom here to join Wally, Tom Barkwell and myself in providing you with Royals news, content, analysis and commentary!
