Lee Roberts Update

Since I attended the Royals game last night with my wife and a group of 14 others and didn’t get home till just before midnight, I didn’t have a chance to get a post up last night.  To make up for it, today will be another double post day.  For the morning post I wanted to share some exciting news regarding Lee Roberts.  If you haven’t already read the interview that I did with Lee, click here.

On Monday (8/3), Lee threw a scoreless inning of work and struck out the side in the process.  Last night (8/7) he threw 2.2 innings and allowed 2 hits, 0 walks, and 0 earned runs.  He struck out 1 and also picked up the win.  The big news is that his latest outing came as a member of the Burlington Royals!

That’s right folks, Lee Roberts has been promoted from the Arizona League Royals to the Burlington Royals.  He leaves the AZL Royals with a 1.35 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 7.00 K/BB in 13.1 innings pitched.  If you aren’t a fan of the ratio stats here are the base numbers:  9 G, 13.1 IP, 1.35 ERA, 13 H, 2 BB, 14 SO.

I want to take this opportunity to again thank Lee for the interview and also for staying in touch ever since.  He has definitely earned the title of KoK’s Favorite Royals Minor League Player.

For my second post, that should be up tonight, I will be writing about Billy Butler.  I won’t provide any specifics beyond that, but here is hint courtesy of Sam Mellinger’s blog.
