Batting Average

Mike – Lorenzo Cain

Looks like he should lead in batting average based on his consistent approach.

He has also managed to improve each year during the Royal revival.

David – Lorenzo Cain

His ability to drive the ball into the gaps and speed will help his progression to a true star.

John – Lorenzo Cain

Cain has hit over .300 the last two seasons and has the speed to leg out infield hits. That ability to gain extra hits will give Cain the edge over Eric Hosmer to lead the team.

Ryan – Eric Hosmer

I’ll just be up front here and say that Eric is not my favorite player. In fact, I get more frustrated with him than any player on the Royals that I expect to contribute. His lack of power and inability to hit ground balls just don’t sit well with me.

With that being said, he certainly has an above-average hit tool. As people like me have been waiting for his power to develop, he has been busy becoming a legitimate .300 threat, hitting that mark once before in 2013 and being a .290 or better hitter in two other seasons.
