We’re getting into the homestretch in announcing award winners for 2010 as determined by the Baseball Bloggers Alliance. The newest release announces the Walter Johnson Award – most outstanding pitcher.

Not surprisingly, Roy Halladay and Felix Hernandez ran away with both league’s voting.

Announcing the Kings of Kauffman All-Star Team

While Kings of Kauffman should be your first stop on the internet as a Royals fan, we know Kansas City doesn’t exist in a vacuum. We’re all fans of the Royals because we’re fans of baseball, and, as such, one of the more exciting and interesting parts of the season is the All-Star break.

Sure a little bit of the luster has come off with interleague play showcasing National League teams to American League fans and vice versa, but when else do you get such a collection of major league baseball talent in one place for one game? Only the second week in July (unless you’re Jon Miller and Joe Morgan and it’s a Red Sox/Yankees Sunday night game on ESPN).

Tom, Wally and myself cast our ballots for our 2010 All-Star starting lineups, choosing those who we thought were most deserving of starting the All-Star Game. So without further adieu…

Greinke Remains Favorite for AL Cy Young Award

The way things stand now, Felix Hernandez and Roy Halladay are Zack Greinke’s only legitimate competition for the 2009 AL Cy Young Award. Taking a look at the stats, Greinke is the clear cut favorite to win the award despite playing on an awful team. Now is a perfect time to break each of their seasons down since all three have made 20 starts and are within 1.2 innings pitched of one another. (more…)
