			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Let&#8217;s face it, the Royals are loaded with prospects.  For the purpose of actual rankings, I&#8217;ve gotten input from the other contributors here on Kings of Kauffman and finalized the countdown. (You can look at last year&#8217;s rankings <a href="http://kingsofkauffman.com/royals-organization/2010-prospect-rankings/" target="_blank">here</a>.)</p>
<p>And just like building a piece of furniture out of the box from Walmart, there are a lot of other pieces laying about, and I have a feeling they&#8217;re important.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey, it&#8217;s a new year and a new season approaches.  It may be a rough season for Royals fans, but there&#8217;s still a lot of interest in how the minor league prospects develop and the potential emergence of other strong prospects as the season goes on.</p>
<p>In the interest of light-hearted prognostication, I think it might be fun to toss out some predictions for the 2011 season &#8211; some good, some bad &#8211; and perhaps have a little fun thinking about what awaits us this year.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Earlier this afternoon, the Royals announced the winners of the George Brett Hitter of the Year Award and the Paul Splittorff Pitcher of the Year Award among their minor league players.</p>
<p>It should be no surprise that <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;id=mousta001mik">Mike  Moustakas</a></strong> is the recipient of the Brett Award and <strong><a href="http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;id=lamb--003joh">John  Lamb</a></strong> won the Splittorff Award.</p>
<p>On top of those honors, the Royals also named players of the year for their minor league affiliates today.<br />
