It’s a new year and it is 1 degree above zero in balmy Kansas City as I write this. There is a solid 2-inch layer of ice and snowpack on the lower third of my driveway, after shoveling, and we have more snow on the way later this week. I can’t think of a better thing to do than check in on the Royals in the Caribbean.

Hey Hey Kids! It’s Monday and that means it is time for the weekly look at the Royals playing in the Caribbean Winter Leagues.
On Saturday the Arizona Fall League Championship was played and the 2009 AFL season officially came to an end. Sadly that means this will be the final Rafters Report of the year. Since this is the final one, I am including the typical fare from previous Sunday Rafters Reports plus some info on the final batting and pitching leaders in a few categories. There will be one additional AFL related post in Central Processing fashion where I will provide AFL season stats for the participants from all the other AL Central teams in addition to the Kansas City Royals.
Welcome to the final Wednesday edition of the Rafters Report.
Sunday Rafters Report
The AFL season wraps up this week so this will be the final Sunday edition of the Rafters Report. The Surprise Rafters will play their last game on Thursday, but I will probably keep the normal routine and post again on Wednesday. At some point after the final game on Thursday I’ll do a recap of the AFL season and will pick up the stats from the last game at that time. Until then enjoy!
It’s Wednesday which means it’s Rafters Report time. It’s also Veteran’s Day so please take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women that have fought for and represented our country over the years. Also take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the families of those troops while they were away from home.
