In their final game of the week, Peoria beat Surprise, 8-3.

Raul Mondesi started at shortstop and batted seventh. He went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. He led off the 6th inning with a double, but was left stranded. He also committed a throwing error in the seventh.

Bubba Starling did not start, but entered on defense in the fourth (Kes Carter of Tampa Bay was hit by a pitch in the second). Starling went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts. He was also hit by a pitch.

Both Mondesi and Starling scored on St. Louis prospect Breyvic Valera‘s two out double in the 8th inning.

The Javelinas will be back in action on Monday afternoon when they host Scottsdale. Miguel Almonte is the listed starter for Peoria.
