Triple Play Podcast: Slumping Royals, Surging Angels, Chris Davis

facebooktwitterreddit

This week’s episode of the Triple Play Podcast features some brief discussion from Reese, Matt, and me on the Orioles’ Chris Davis, who got popped for Adderall use, and will be out of their lineup until late in the ALCS, if they make it there. Considering Davis’ comments about the players who allegedly took steroids, it may have been wise for him to not take an illegal substance.

From there, we jump over to the Angels, who have completely shrugged off an injury to their staff ace, Garrett Richards.  It helps when your offense can score 5+ runs every night, which is what the Angels did over a 10 game stretch. They are on an absolute rampage at the moment, and seem to be the heavy favorite in the AL.

More from KC Royals News

The Royals haven’t been playing solid baseball lately, but they do have a few things going their way that could be helpful down the stretch. The Mariners have a very difficult schedule, and despite their offensive woes, the Royals are in the driver’s seat in the 2nd Wild Card. Plus, the A’s have completely gone in the tank, so the 1st Wild Card spot is also up for grabs.

We also talk about Billy Butler‘s lack of playing time, and the fact that it’s difficult to win baseball games when only three hitters are doing anything at the plate.
