Triple Play Podcast: Omar Infante, Tim Lincecum, MLB Futures Game

facebooktwitterreddit

This week, on the 23rd episode of the Triple Play Podcast, Reese, Matt, and I talk a bit about Tim Lincecum‘s second career no-hitter. Lincecum’s not really all that good anymore, but not many pitchers have multiple no-hitters under their belt, so it’s still a pretty neat accomplishment. We also discuss the Padres firing their General Manager, Josh Byrnes, who had been on the job for less than three seasons. That decision seems rash.

On the Royals’ front, we bring up Omar Infante‘s bounce back from a rough offensive stretch, as well as the valuable contributions Jarrod Dyson has provided this season. He’s a lot of fun to watch, and he seems to be getting better.

Finally, we talk about the 2014 MLB Futures Game rosters, to which Royals prospect Christian Binford now belongs. Binford’s having a great season, but he’s probably the 8th best pitcher on the American staff. There will be a lot of talent in that game.
