Series Preview: Royals (33-32) at White Sox (33-34)

It’s back to the road after a winning homestand (5-2) against the likes of the Cardinals, Yankees and Indians. This trip is equally as important as it’s a seven game road trip at Chicago and Detroit with the Royals currently second in the AL Central.

Probable Pitching Match-ups:
Friday, 7:10 pm – Jeremy Guthrie/RHP (2-6, 4.10) v. Jose Quintana/LHP (3-6, 3.59)
Saturday, 1:10 pm – Danny Duffy/LHP (3-5, 3.26) v. Hector Noesi/RHP (2-4, 5.40)
Sunday, 1:10 pm – James Shields/RHP (7-3, 3.44) v. Andre Rienzo/RHP (4-3, 5.25)

Comments on Pitching Match-ups – Anytime you see Guthrie, Duffy and Shields it’s a nice sight for Royals fans heading into any series, let alone important ones. On the other side Chicago is throwing guys who maybe haven’t had the best success this season which should favor the boys in blue.

Series Predictions – I like how KC is playing and this series is no different so I’ll say that the Royals take two of three on the south side this Father’s Day weekend.

2014 Meetings:
These teams have played six times this season all at Kauffman Stadium with the season series knotted at 3-3. Last time out Chicago won two of three winning 7-6 the first two nights before Kansas City salvaged game three

Franchise History:
The White Sox lead the all-time series 327-360 while the Royals are 147-199 on the “Southside” and are 77-107 at US Cellular Field.

TV/Radio Coverage:
Fans can tune into FOX Sports Kansas City for three games Ryan Lefebvre  with and Rex Hudler on TV. Joel Goldberg hosts Royals Live before and after with Jeff Montgomery from the Cell. Royals Hall of Famer/2007 Ford C. Frick Award winner Denny Matthews is joined in the booth by Steve Physioc and Steve Stewart will be on the Royals Radio Network (610 Sports Radio in KC) describing the action from the “Southside”. Saturday night the game will be available on FOX Sports.
