Triple Play Podcast: Eric Hosmer, Alex Gordon, Morales, & Royals Draft

facebooktwitterreddit

On this week’s episode of the Triple Play Podcast, Reese, Matt, and I talk about Kendrys Morales signing with the Twins. We take slightly different sides of the issue, although it’s obvious he should improve their lineup, as long as he isn’t too rusty after a long layoff. Next, we take a quick look at the red-hot Oakland Athletics, and how ridiculously good their lineup is. Plus, they’ve been able to overcome numerous pitching injuries by getting excellent seasons from Jesse Chavez and Scott Kazmir.

In our Royals segment, we talk about sad things like Eric Hosmer‘s terrible hitting for the last month or so, but then we counteract that sadness by discussing Alex Gordon‘s performance, which has him on pace to come close to his 2011 numbers. We also note Salvador Perez‘s improved performance since he started getting more days off.

Finally, we wrap things up by breaking down the Royals draft, including our opinions of the top few guys.
