Triple Play Podcast: Gyorko’s Contract, Brewers, Royals, & Physioc
This week on the podcast, Reese, Matt, and I start off the show by talking about the Blue Jays injuries to their middle infielders. With the Royals seemingly having no use for Johnny Giavotella, the two teams could match up in a trade. From there, we break down Jedd Gyorko‘s contract extension, and why we think the Padres got an absolute steal. We also discuss the Brewers’ hot start, and whether or not we think they’ll be in contention later in the year.
On the Royals’ front, it was a mostly depressing discussion. We talked about Billy Butler‘s struggles, and if we thought being dropped in the batting order would be a good idea. The rest of the anemic offense, along with the ever-present roster issues, were also discussed. We recorded this prior to the Astros series began, so the pain of the Twins’ sweep still stung.
Finally, we covered the comments from Steve Physioc about fans on social media. Needless to say, we were not fond of Physioc’s take.
