@jim fetterolf I think the implication is that if Myers took the 40 man spot, he'd be here to stay, not just for a week like is suspected of Bourgeois.

Agreed otherwise, though I don't think it's right to dismiss the idea that Dayton would have stuck with HQ to save face. Would that have been surprising at all? Methinks not. Glad they went with the younger, switch-hitting option at any rate.

Quintero was an easy call, in spite of some of the chattering class predicting that he would stay so GMDM didn't look like he was admitting to losing a trade for a AA reliever and a kid in rookie ball. Now the same class is changing the names and claiming Bourgeois is up so it doesn't look like GMDM lost a trade... Bourgeois is up because he splits well against lefties, whom the Royals will see several of of. After that he goes back down.

Everett Teaford was less "merry-go-round" than "injury rehab". He's healthy and dominated AAA so has returned to his season opening position as lefty swing-man.

As for Wil Myers, makes little sense to make 40-man roster moves to bring a big prospect up for a week. He'll be up eventually but when he comes up it will be to stay. A lot depends on Lorenzo Cain and offers for Frenchy and even on whether the coaches think he's ready. Getting in a hurry and bringing up another Gio or 2011 Moose isn't a good idea while in the division race.

What a difference a day makes or should I say a sweep makes. The good new is at this rate we can almost beat that any given series will be a sweep. The bad news is we don't know if it will be us or the other guys on the happy end of the broom!!!!!!!
