I like the look back to last year, it just shows how the results for short periods of time can be can be misleading. The Royals were extremely lucky last year early, then had nothing go their way the rest of the year. I remember lots of come from behind and late game wins early last year.

It seems like many people like what Broxton has done for the Royals, I have not really liked what I have seen. Nearly every time I watch him, he struggles or get lucky in some way. We have a few guys I would like to see before him right now. I will admit that the results have paid off, I just think he is lucky.

Here are some comparisons: K/9, BB/9, H/9, WHIP, ERA

Broxton: 5.49 3.20 8.24 1.24 1.83
Collins: 13.15 2.42 6.23 0.96 2.42
Crow: 8.46 4.03 5.24 1.03 2.82
Herrera: 8.00 1.33 7.33 0.96 3.33

In the last 30 days:
Broxton: 3.75 3.00 9.00 1.33 1.50
The other three are similar to their stats for the year.

I just don't think he should be the honorable mention for pitcher of the month, and I would probably give Paulino the pitcher of the month honor.

Slightly off topic, Herrera has shown some amazing control, I just think he has gone to his change up too often. I like the pitch, but I have been able to guess too often when he was actually throwing it. If I were a hitter, I would attempt to sit on that pitch as often as he throws it. But overall, he has been fantastic along with Collins.
