@the5allens This is true. Labrum issues would be a lot worse and a lot more difficult to make a full recovery. At least with TJS, there are enough programs to rebuild the arm strength and many pitchers come back just as good and sometimes with a touch more zip.

@ArrowFan He'd be anointed as baseball's Jeremy Lin.

Mazzaro's not really a rookie, but yeah, your point definitely stands. Flyover country...

I'm sorry but ESPN just makes me sick. I'm watching their highlights of last nights game this morning and instead of showing how a rookie pitcher came into Texas and deflated the biggest bats currently in the game and showing the actual highlights of the Royals beating the Rangers. All they keep showing was Hamilton and talking about his twitter following. It just makes me sick even when the Royals are playing well and beating the best teams in the Al the BS ESPN refuses to give them anything. What would have been the story if a Yankee or Boston rookie had done the same?

I'm happy to eat crow when I am wrong, and after Mazzaro's win tonight, I couldn't help but re-read my final line from this post.

"Is there any better way to start a road trip against Josh Hamilton and the white-hot Texas Rangers?"

The thinly veiled snark within that line deserve admonishment. Nice job by the Royals making the Rangers look like chumps.

at least, in this day and age, Tommy John is pretty mild in terms of arm surgery for a pitcher. I live in VA, and follow the Nationals also. Strasburg and Jordan Zimmermann have both had the TJ, and are back in peak form following the year recovery.

besides, i will take a "post-TJ Surgery Duffy" over anybody else in this rotation, or on the fringe of this rotation

@ArrowFan We get Vin Mazzaro tonight! Yayyy.

He's pitched fairly okay in Omaha at least. Hopefully he doesn't have another Cleveland meltdown.

Who is pitching tonight? I'm happy to have my boom out and ready but I fear that we are going to get ran over tonight.
