@davidwlowe starling is a monster, i have him compared to joe dimaggio… but you’re right he’s not a good comp to harper because he is much more raw, starling was splitting his time between football and baseball while harper was training specifically for baseball year round at an advanced level pretty much since he was 12

@davidwlowe For comparison, Hosmer spent 2 seasons plus 29 games on the farm before his permanent callup. I seriously doubt Starling will spend 4 full seasons in the minors. If he does, he’s a bust. After dumping $7.5 million on him, I think he’s someone we should all be keeping our eye on, and I have no intention of giving it a rest – whether he performs well or not. And I’m absolutely certain he’ll be a huge factor in many of the club’s plans, transactions, trades, or lack thereof long before he ever steps foot on the turf at Kauffman as we all prepare for his eventual arrival in KC.

No way Starling gets a 2013 callup. He will spend four full seasons in the minors, I’m sure. Look at Wil Myers as an example. That puts him in the majors in 2016, not 2013. Give the Starling story a rest…he won’t be a factor for many years in KC.
