For the record, I still have the Royals pegged for second place and a slightly above .500 record. If Glass decides to make some moves to improve the team at the All-Star break, I could still see the Royals staying in the hunt until September.

@pthomp21 I have gotten tired of watching ESPN unless they have a game I want to watch. I used to like PTI, but it not as good anymore. Sportscenter is a joke, I will wait for 45 minutes to see what I want to see, then it has 8 seconds of coverage. The only time I see Royals coverage is if they are playing the Yankees or Red Sox. I guess I am not the demographic they care about. Anyway, that is my rant about ESPN (I could go on about why I dislike ESPN).

On the Royals front, I had expected us to compete for the division this year, but no longer.

Eric, you touched on the worst aspect of this Tigers signing. With Verlander, Cabrera, and now Fielder we can expect our fair share of Tigers coverage on the ESPN family of networks next season. Lucky us.

It's hard to dislike Prince, he always plays hard and seems to be smiling most of the time. I am happy for him to be playing for the same team his Dad played for as well. I just wont be rooting him anymore (unless they are playing the Yankees or White Sox, of course).

If you believe in Moneyball, then I suppose the defense does not matter, however the Tigers could be very bad on the corner infield spots. The Tigers now look like a team ready to take on the perennial big winners though. I expect the Tigers to go to The Series this year and to be a fun team to watch.
