Sounds as though Mr Barrington is over-valuing Mr Soria. Getting a #1 or #2 starter for him sounds like a pipe dream to me. Royals, please make me wrong!

Soria is tradeable and has little to do with Broxton, everything to do with value received. Royals need a high-ceiling AAA 2b and always need more hot AA arms, so for the right package, trade him, if value isn't there we'll have enough quality bullpen to cover for our short inning starters. Soria will not bring a #1 or #2 starter, so no need to waste time thinking about that. As for Greinke, good talent, but mailed it in in '10 and didn't want to spend his last years here while rebuilding. He may well be back in '13, wife likes it here and they still have a home in the area. Royals put up '85 wins next season and scare some people, Zack comes home reasonable money.

As for Cone and Sabes, irrelevant, as nobody from those FOs are with the team and Greinke's situation isn't analogous to that of Saberhagen and Cone, whose trades were just mistakes. In sum, everyone is tradeable for the right price. GMDM got good value for Greinke. I'm not too worried baout getting Ed Hearn back for Jack Soria.
