Moore has, I think, gone about it correctly, building from the ground up and with the view of creating a long-running, successful system like in Atlanta, where he had worked for Mr. Kaufman's former GM.Agree that pitching is important and I expect a rotation of Hochevar, Sanchez, Paulino, Chen, and Duffy/Montgomery/Teaford/Mendoza/Crow etc to be stronger than last year's starting Hochevar/Francis/Davies/Chen/Sean O'Sullivan.We'll have three better starters than last year right out of the gate, quite an upgrade, and one I expect worth an extra ten wins on pitching alone. With position players, Savior Perez has replaced Matt Treanor, Eric Hosmer replaced Kila, Giavotella Getz. Moose replaced Aviles/Betamit, and Lorenzo Cain will be a defensive upgrade in center, although it will be hard for his offense to match the departed Melky for awhile. As for the farm, most of our top prospects are already up with major league experience. I bet Detroit wouldn't mind having Hosmer, Moose, Gordon, and maybe even Butler and Francoeur. I'm optimistic.
