Here in the midwest, there are aftershocks being felt from Oklahoma and from the Royals front office. The first big trade of the offseason belonged to Royals and Giants.

On the FanSided Network, Frisco Fastball equated trading for Melky Cabrera with snagging one of those bargain HDTVs on Black Friday. Bryan was lukewarm at best on the deal:

Mickey Brignall at Call to the Pen doesn’t see either team being burned down the line by this deal:

Meanwhile, Joe Soriano suggests the Giants have a slight edge on the deal, citing Sanchez’s drop in peripheral stats last year while noting that Cabrera fits the Giants a little better:
