You're right...what I read was his profile in BA's prospect book where they suggested he's capable of full time work at 2B, but the playing time numbers don't support any case that he has done so. I bet they still play Getz all the time, but it could mean Navarro is up as utility guy and Gio gets promoted. Hunch at this point is Gio comes up in September though. You’re right…what I read was his profile in BA’s prospect book where they suggested he’s capable of full time work at 2B, but the playing time numbers don’t support any case that he has done so.

I bet they still play Getz all the time, but it could mean Navarro is up as utility guy and Gio gets promoted. Hunch at this point is Gio comes up in September though.

In two seasons at Boston he's played 18 gms at SS, 15 at 3B and only 3 at 2B. Similarly, in 5 seasons through their minor league system he's played 292 games at SS, 59 at 3B but only 19 at 2B Has he really even played enough games at 2B to be considered a reasonable backup for the position?
