Kings of Kauffman Seeks Royals Writers

We’re at the halfway point in the season now, but with the trading deadline, potential call-ups and a few teams who may make the minor league playoffs in their respective leagues, there’s still plenty of news updates and discussions to take place as a Royals fan.

And after the season, there’s the winter meetings and all the craziness included in that.

Staff Writer Jeff Herr has been promoted to site editor of the newly-rebranded ThroughThePhog.com to cover Kansas Jayhawks sports on the FanSided Network.  Everyone here at Kings of Kauffman would like to congratulate Jeff on this move, but it also means he’ll be leaving our hallowed halls.

For the right dedicated Royals fan (who can turn a phrase or two) his move can be to your advantage, as I’m currently looking for someone to keep our lineup fully loaded.

If you’re interested in becoming a contributor on Kings of Kauffman (proud member of the FanSided Network), here’s what to do:

  • Write a 500-1500 word article about the Royals.  This can be about any topic you choose but it should represent your best work and be fully edited.  Writing is one part ideas and one part presentation, and both carry a lot of weight.
  • I cannot stress this enough – your work should be fully proofread and edited.  Nobody’s perfect, myself included – but you should take the time to read, re-read and perhaps have a picky friend read your submission before sending it.
  • Email your article (in pdf format or at least cut and pasted into the body of an email) to myself at KingsOfKauffman@gmail.com.  Please put “Kings of Kauffman Contributor Article” in the subject line.  I’ll review the sample articles before passing the best on to the Fansided MLB Leadership Council.
  • This should be obvious, but there shouldn’t be any profanity.  A “hell”, a “damn” – no problem. If they can say it on the radio, you can say it here. Strong opinions are necessary, but please be classy with them.

As a contributor on Kings of Kauffman, you’d be expected to post one (1) article a week, but would have the option open to post more if you chose to do so.  Focus on prospects, stats, news updates – whatever you like.

We’re an easy going bunch and you get to share your well-though ideas with a wide reading audience of passionate Royals fans.  Can’t beat it!
