Quite a jam at 1B/DH. Considering that Mooooose is also a wide body and seems to be fighting 3B, we could be looking at 2013 with Hosmer at 1B and Moooose as DH, leaving Clint, Kila, and even Billy as trade bait. We could even factor in Gordon as the second best 1B in the upper system at the moment:) I would lean toward Kila getting another month to light up and get traded, then bring Robinson up to establish himself and get trade value in the off-season and try to get back a couple of young A 3B. Hos seems the only multi-tool player in the bunch at the moment and an outfield move is possible, but the OF gets crowded with Cain, Gordon, Eibner, Lough, and Dyson, should he ever get a hit. 3B seems, defensively, our weakest spot on the depth chart, unless Moooose's body type is fooling me and he can be an average 3B.

Now that you mention it, Duffy does look a little like Greinke in that picture. Hopefully he has a better attitude. The line on Robinson is that his numbers are great, but he has been protected by Hosmer and Moustakas his entire minor league career and he is a bit older (26) so he may already be close to his ceiling. He is also a big guy with limited athleticism so he can't really do much beyond 1B/DH. Best case scneario is that he is too good, gets a chance late this season and proves he can do it, and then Hosmer gets moved to outfield so Robinson and Butler can platoon at 1B/DH. The odds of that are slim cause that would eat up another outfield spot, Robinson will most likely not get his major league shot with the Royals, unfortunately.

Good piece. Is it my imagination or does Danny Duffy actually look like a left-handed Zack Greinke? On Clint Robinson, is he for real? Is he playing any OF, is his glove legitimate at first, does he have any speed, arm, or athleticism? Must be some negative for him, given his hitting, but he gets lost in the media blizzard surrounding Hos and Moooooose.
