The shift by Wil Myers to the outfield makes it even more likely, as Perez won't have to fend him off for playing time. Worst case, he struggles as a 21 year old in the toughest jump in the minors and takes a step back. In 2009, he had the same kind of hiccup at a higher level and got things straightened out at a lower level ...then came back and had his solid 2010 year. Salvador Perez is one of my favorite prospects to watch. Seeing as you mentioned Perez was a A+ Carolina League All Star with almost 400 PA's at that level wouldn't you think it likely that he starts the year in AA, rather than a mid season promotion?
