Site Announcements: A New Writer and Upcoming Article Hype
First thing’s first, I want to welcome another new writer to the staff at Kings of Kauffman. Kevin Scobee has joined up with us on this magical mystery tour and I think his strong voice will resonate with you, our valued readers. Kevin has written for ProRumors.com in the past, and, like the rest of us here, is a long time suffering Royals fan…well I’ll let him tell you in his own words:
"I lived in Kansas City from day 1 to year 27 before moving to Orange County, Calif., and I’ve been a tortured Royals fan the whole way. At one point as a kid my favorite player was Kevin Kozlowski. Seriously. After graduating with a journalism degree from Park University and spending a few years as a college pitching coach, I made my move to the west coast hoping to leave my Royals sorrows behind. Alas, it didn’t work. Today I spend most of my time watching and reading all things Aaron Sorkin, and trying to find some relief for my lifetime of Royals fan heartbreak."
The second announcement pertains to an upcoming article that I’m excited to write.
I had the opportunity to speak with Joshua Kusnick of Double Diamond Sports Management. Kusnick is a certified MLBPA agent and represents two of the newest Royals, Lorenzo Cain and Jeremy Jeffress. Both players should have significant roles in 2011 and beyond for the Royals and it was great to hear about their reactions to the trade that brought them here. Look for that article either Thursday or Friday. It was an insightful informative discussion.
Oh, and also:
If you’re interested in becoming a contributor on Kings of Kauffman (proud member of the Fansided network), here’s what to do:
- Write a 500-1500 word article about the Royals. This can be about any topic you choose but it should represent your best work and be fully edited. Writing is one part ideas and one part presentation, and both carry a lot of weight.
- Email your article (in pdf format or at least cut and pasted into the body of an email) to myself at michael.allen.engel@gmail.com. Please put “Kings of Kauffman Contributor Article” in the subject line. I’ll review the sample articles before passing the best on to the Fansided MLB Leadership Council.
- This should be obvious, but there shouldn’t be any profanity. A “hell”, a “damn” – no problem. If they can say it on the radio, you can say it here. Strong opinions are necessary, but please be classy with them.
As a contributor on Kings of Kauffman, you’d be expected to post one (1) article a week, but would have the option open to post more if you chose to do so. Focus on prospects, stats, news updates – whatever you like.
You can stay current on all the Kings of Kauffman content and news by following us onTwitter,Facebook, or by way of our RSS feed
