Make Room For Melky: Lance Zawadzki Designated

The Lance Zawadzki era is over, Royals fans.

In order to make room on the roster for former Yankees and Braves outfielder Melky Cabrera, infielder Lance Zawadzki was designated for assignment.  Like Philip Humber before him, who was DFA’d to make room for Jeff Francoeur, Zawadzki will either be demoted to the minors, released or claimed by another team.  Humber was claimed by the A’s on Friday.

Zawadzki hit .000/.000/.000/.000 for the Royals and may not have even been assigned a jersey number after being claimed by the Royals in November.
