Royals Prospect Everett Teaford Dominates Aruba

On Sunday, Aruba’s Christian Diaz led off the Pan Am Games matchup against Team USA and Royals lefty Everett Teaford and singled.

And that was the high point of the day for Aruba.

Teaford threw 62 pitches over five innings, striking out 10 batters and walking none.  As a unit, Team USA surrendered just that one hit and no walks over seven total innings.  Oh, and they also scored 14 runs, ending the game early due to a mercy rule.

Royals prospects Mike Moustakas and Eric Hosmer had fine performances as well, as Moustakas homered in the fifth inning and Hosmer walked four times.

The win makes Team USA 2-0 heading into this afternoon’s contest with Colombia where Mike Montgomery gets the start.
