You’re right, jazo. Another foul-up on my part re. Betemit. MLB players rights issues are too complicated for me to comment on, perhaps. I made the assumption that, given the number of years he’s played in the big leagues, he had obtained free agent status. Dumb assumption.

But let it not be said that I don’t learn from my mistakes. Thanks for calling me on it.

I like your site, but I don’t think either DeJesus or Betemit is a free agent. DeJesus has a team option and would only be a free agent if the option is declined. I also believe that Betemit has one year of arbitration elegibilty remaining. He will only be a free agent if the Royals do not offer him arbitration, which I think is unlikely given his Offensive production. I agree the Royals should keep both players.

By the way, you incorrectly used multiple question marks after the all caps word AGAIN in your first sentence.

And yes, David is a fast worker with the ladies (if only that speed could be transferred to his running game).

I would gladly trade prospects — many of whom will never pan out in the big leagues — for a player of Werth’s caliber. Thirty one isn’t that old.

The DeJesuses are expecting AGAIN??? David Jr. was born May 25. The baby is due the end of March. That’s some pretty quick work.

Speaking of David DeJesus, how are you going to trade him for a free agent in Jayson Werth? And, more to the point, why are you going to trade a couple top prospects? That would be just plain dumb, especially when the return is an expensive player who is over 30.
