And a dreamer. And Cabrera is a really magnificent hitter. But I honestly don't think we've seen anything close to the best from Billy Butler yet. That's optomistic. At the same age (literally as they share the same birthday of April 18th) Miguel Cabrera went yard 34 times, drove in 119 runs, and hit at a clip of .320 for the year. Including that year, 2007, Miggy already had 138 career homeruns. If Butler hits 25 long balls this year (which will be a stretch and a career high) he'll have 74 career homeruns. Here's the thing: I want the Royals to suceed as much as anyone, but there is no need to pump sunshine about a player with upside way more similiar to Mike Sweeney than Miguel Cabrera. And frankly, if he hits as well as Sweeney then I'll be surprised and happy. Billy is what he is, a nice player who would fit in well on a contending team.
