John Lamb Promoted

Somewhat lost in the shuffle after the Hillman firing, but no less significant, is the promotion of John Lamb to High-A Wilmington.

Lamb, ranked #7 by Baseball America in the Royals system, was 2-3 at Low-A Burlington, but had an ERA of 1.58 and a 43/17 K/BB ratio. The 6’3″ lefthanded Lamb won’t turn 20 years old until July, but projects to be a solid major league starter with good control. Greg Schaum compares his delivery to Tom Glavine.

Our very own Wally Fish has Lamb ranked at #8 in the system, and you can read his breakdown here.

Lamb should make his debut on Friday against Myrtle Beach.
