KoK Prospect #10: David Lough
Coming soon to FanSided
In the near future a new site will be added to the FanSided.com Sports Network MLB lineup. That’s right, the launch of our new general baseball site, Call to the Pen, draws near. We are hoping to get it up and running shortly before or shortly after opening day.
KoK Prospect #11: Chris Dwyer
Today’s spring training game with the Giants was cancelled today due to inclement weather. The articles I planned to write and publish last night were cancelled due to the outbreak of a poker game. To top it all off three members of the Royals organization have had their 2010 development cancelled or delayed thanks to injury.
Playing Pepper and Hot Stove contributions
I wanted to briefly point out some thoughts that I have provided to other sources in the last week. I was going to tie these into a From the Fish Pond article, but think they are better off standing on their own. After all, Hot Stove and C70 At The Bat deserve all the honor and publicity I can muster.
ST game 2 recap (3/5): Greinke’s return
From a 13-3 loss to a 4-2 win. Even in spring training, the difference is Royals ace Zack Greinke. The results of spring games aren’t terribly important, but 1-1 is better than 0-2.
Baseball Side of FanSided (3/5)
Time to take a stroll around the MLB blogs of FanSided. This will be my only post for the night but I have several in the works that I will get published tomorrow. I’m running on fumes tonight and need to recoup some sleep that I missed out on earlier in the week.
Royals versus Rangers: 200 to 457
Considering I don’t exactly have a rosy outlook for the Royals in 2010, what happened today in Surprise, Arizona amounted to getting punched in the gut. Okay, maybe that’s a little strong. After all, it is only one game, and the first spring training game at that.
Jason Esposito, the one that got away
The Kansas City Royals failed to sign just one of their top-10 picks from the 2008 draft class. 3B-Jason Esposito was the team’s 7th round selection out of Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge, Connecticut Virginia. Despite committing a then record $11.1 million in bonus money to their 2008 draft class, the Royals offered Esposito a bonus in excess of $1 million. It wasn’t enough to pry him away from attending Vanderbilt University.

Market Fresh Update (3/1)
It’s been a little over two weeks since the last Market Fresh Update, but there has been a lot of movement lately. Today seems like an appropriate time to catch back up.
