Happy Birthday to Kings of Kauffman

facebooktwitterreddit

They say time flies when you are having fun and doing what you love.  This site is proof that the saying is true.  It was just over a year ago that I joined the FanSided.com Sports Network.  On February 26th, 2009, I published my first article, Ho-Ram, the Flaw within the Royals Rotation.  I didn’t know it at the time but publishing that piece altered the direction of my life.

For those of you that don’t remember, I actually joined the FanSided family to cover the Twins over on Twinkie Talk and the Royals for this site.  Except of course that this site was http://royaleswithcheese.com at that time.  On April 11th we relaunched the site as Kings of Kauffman to avoid confusion with the original Royales With Cheese, and because the new site name fit my style of writing better.

On May 13th I stopped writing for Twinkie Talk so I could focus my efforts on the Royals.  It was a difficult decision at the time, but one which I haven’t regretted.  Making that move in May allowed me to take on the role of MLB Director for our network in November when the opportunity presented itself.  One good decision begets another I suppose, as I have enjoyed operating in that role nearly as much as I have enjoyed writing for the site itself.

Writing about the Royals and baseball has become a very fulfilling part of my life and one I hope to continue for many years to come.  In the last 367 days, I’ve published 372 times.  It is a level of production I could have never imagined a year ago, but one I hope to top in the next 365.

No one can know what the future holds, but I hope you’ll keep reading and follow along as it happens.

Brevity has never been one of my strengths so I guess this has been my long-winded way of saying Happy Birthday to Kings of Kauffman!
