Market Fresh Update (2/8)
By Wally Fish
The Ny-Quil is kicking in, and I am heading back to bed, but before I go, here’s a quick Market Fresh update.
Royals SS-Mario Lisson (25) cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Omaha. He has been invited to Spring Training. I’m glad to see that Lisson will remain in the organization and provide AAA depth. SS-Luis Hernandez, who was DFA’d by the Royals a month ago, signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets last Thursday.
2B-Gregorio Petit (25), Oakland Athletics, remains on the market after being DFA’d February 1st.
OF-Willy Taveras (28), Oakland Athletics, also remains on the market after being DFA’d February 1st.
On Saturday, the Oakland Athletics traded LHP-Dana Eveland (26) to the Toronto Blue Jays for a PTBNL or cash considerations.
RHP-Gaby Hernandez (23), Seattle Mariners, remains on the market after being DFA’d February 1st.
The Brewers outrighted RHP-Tim Dillard (26) to Triple-A after he cleared waivers.
Giants 1B-Jesus Guzman (25) also cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A.
RHP-Yusmeiro Petit (25) was DFA’d by the Seattle Mariners on Saturday to make room for LHP-Eric Bedard.
