Happy Birthday to Kings of Kauffman

AUTHOR: | IN: KC Royals | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

They say time flies when you are having fun and doing what you love.  This site is proof that the saying is true.  It was just over a year ago that I joined the FanSided.com Sports Network.  On February 26th, 2009, I published my first article, Ho-Ram, the Flaw within the Royals Rotation.  I didn’t know it at the time but publishing that piece altered the direction of my life.

RSS Success and Blogrollin’

AUTHOR: | IN: KC Royals | COMMENTS: None Yet

I have finally caught up on my RSS reading!  It only took me three days to get through 1,500 “assignments” after being disconnected for five days.  I consider myself very fortunate that my wife is a huge baseball fan and allows me to devote so much of my free time to reading and writing about the game we both love.

Baseball Side of FanSided (2/26)

AUTHOR: | IN: BBSoFS, MLB | COMMENTS: None Yet

Yesterday I planned on posting a couple things once I caught up on my RSS feed reading.  I got through about 600 articles last night and made a dent in some of my email but by then it was already 1:30 am.  Now I have a fairly long list of articles to crank out and publish tonight and over the weekend.  Since it is Friday, the first order of business is to take our weekly stroll around the MLB blogs of FanSided.

86 to 16

AUTHOR: | IN: KC Royals | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Late last night our plane touched down at KCI and we all made it back safe and sound.  When we took off from Montego Bay yesterday afternoon, it was 86 degrees.  When we landed in Kansas City it was 16 degrees.  It would be an understatement to say that I couldn’t wait to get home, but the 70-degree change in temperature was not exactly the welcome I was looking for.  You may have noticed that I did not publish any content while I was on my trip and there is a very good reason for that which ties in to [...]

Baseball Side of FanSided (2/19)

AUTHOR: | IN: BBSoFS, MLB | COMMENTS: None Yet

Tomorrow morning I will be departing for Jamaica on what I hope will be an enjoyable trip.  I plan on continuing to post daily while I am down there provided factors such as time, energy, space and wireless internet access are working in my favor.  I hope to get a couple quick posts up tonight as well as another prospect profile before I settle in for a restless night of sleep and a very early ride to the airport with the wife and kids.  To get the ball rolling on a triple post evening, let’s take our weekly stroll around the [...]

KoK Prospect #17: Hilton Richardson

AUTHOR: | IN: Fish on the Farm, KC Royals, Popular | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

To kick off my first ever Royals prospect list, I wanted a player who has a chance to be truly special but who is not among the top fifteen or so players in the organization.  For me, Hilton Richardson was the perfect candidate for the spot.  So much so that he is one of the two players who forced me to make my list a top-17 instead of a top-15.  With all that said, I present to you:  Hilton Richardson, #17 on the 2010 Kings of Kauffman Prospect List.

KoK Prospect List Preface

AUTHOR: | IN: From the Fish Pond, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

The 2010 Kings of Kauffman prospect rankings are locked and loaded.  My list is in pen and tomorrow I will reveal prospect number 17 with a write-up with all the bells, whistles, and information I can muster.  Before I start publishing the player profiles one by one, I wanted to take a moment to go over my methodology and explain why the 2010 list will be seventeen players deep.

From the Fish Pond and under a bus

AUTHOR: | IN: From the Fish Pond, Popular | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

There seems to be about two hours missing from my evening and I’m not exactly sure where they went.  My brother-in-law, Scott, just called to discuss check-in details for our quickly approaching departure to Jamaica and I noticed it was already 9:30.  I asked him what I should write about and he was zero help* in coming up with a good topic.
