Gobble has really struggled in the majors and Triple-A the last few years. He did have a nice WHIP and SO/BB in 2009 for AAA Charlotte (White Sox) but the 2 HR and 7 ER in 12 IP that accompanied those numbers don't exactly instill a lot of confidence. He's never given up less than a hit per inning in his major league career, and his BB/9, HR/9, and SO/BB are also very underwhelming. Especially for a relief pitcher.

The record was the most runs surrendered in a game by a Royals reliever.

Jimmy Gobble is a free agent who set a record while pitching for the royals! Tell your boy Dayton to pick him up Wally!

I bet he'd be pretty cheap.

(Bonus points for you if you name the record)
